With Summer Game Fest approaching, various developers and publishers will be showing off the titles they have been working hard on over the last several months and years. We are here to break down what we hope to see this summer. This list will not be limited to just publishers participating at Summer Game Fest as I’m sure Sony, Nintendo, and others will hold their own events over the next several months. With this list, we are not going to speculate on games we hope will be announced, but instead games that have already been announced that we have limited information on. While I would love to fill this list with hopes of a SOCOM reboot, that will be saved for another day. Without wasting any more time, this is what we hope to see revealed this summer.
Starfield
Starfield was announced all the way back in 2018 and just a few weeks ago, it was delayed into 2023. We have not seen any official gameplay footage of this game. While the delay certainly sucks for gamers, it will probably be worth the wait. Seeing Bethesda take their time with this title is nice and hopefully when we finally get a sneak peak at gameplay, we will be blown away.
IO Interactive’s Project 007
Hitman developers IO Interactive are bringing James Bond back into the video game realm. This project, announced all the way back in November 2020, is low on info but we do know it will be an entirely new James Bond with an original story. At this point, even a verbal update would be nice but a cinematic or gameplay reveal would be phenomenal.
The Legend of Zelda – Breath of the Wild Sequel
Another game that has been delayed into 2023 is the sequel to Breath of the Wild. While we have seen gameplay for this title, we would always welcome more. We don’t even know the title of this game yet. With this game expected to launch in Spring 2023, we expect to see a big blowout of information this summer. Oh, and if Nintendo would like to finally fulfill the prophecy of the NIntendo Switch Pro rumors, we wouldn’t mind that either.
Fable 4
Fable 4 is another game announced back in 2020 and we are low on information. With it having two more years of development time, we are hoping Microsoft is ready to pull back the curtain on this title which I’m sure they believe could be a system seller. At this point, we just want something… official title, gameplay footage, story outline… ANYTHING!
Grand Theft Auto VI
This is a longshot, but not completely out of the realm of possibility. Rockstar loves to surprise gamers which is why it was so surprising for them to announce that Grand Theft Auto VI was in development a few months ago. While I am skeptical that we will see or hear anything surrounding this title this summer, it would be the perfect surprise to fans. Come on, Rockstar. Do it.
So there you have it. Leave a comment below with what you hope to see at Summer Game Fest.
