Hello nerds, and welcome to Nerds with Mics! It’s that time of the week again so lets jump in!

We recorded a new episode this week and it’s a big one! It’s our FIRST OFFICIAL EPISODE! In this episode we talk about Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Doom 4, Oculus Rift, the leaked Mass Effect Andromeda footage, the upcoming changes to Destiny and The Division, and much, much more.

Rouge One – A Star Wars Story Trailer – Wow. On the episode this week we mentioned how we haven’t seen any footage from this film and two days later we have this gem. It looks stunning and much different from other films with the “Star Wars” title. I was initially skeptical about this film but this trailer (I know, it’s just a trailer) has eased those concerns and the movie looks awesome! Rogue One – A Star Wars Story stars Felicity Jones (The Amazing Spider-Man 2), Mads Mikkelsen (Hannibal, Casino Royale), and Alan Tudyk (Firefly) and releases December 16, 2016

Final Fantasy XV – Last week was HUGE for Final Fantasy fans. We finally got the release date for the much anticipated Final Fantasy XV: September 30. We also were informed of a Final Fantasy XV movie titled, Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XVThe movie stars Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad, The Path), Lena Headley (Game of Thrones, 300), and Sean Bean (Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings).

Telltale Game’s is Bringing 7 Days to Die to Consoles – Telltale teased us the other day with a very creepy image, indicating they would be giving the Telltale treatment to a horror style game.

Then12924595_260800877591856_1080074545396104759_n it was revealed they were simply publishing the game. It turns out this game is the popular PC game, 7 Days to Die, and they are porting it over to PS4 and Xbox One. This game as a large following on Steam and I’m sure console users can’t wait to get their hands on it.

Gears of War 4 – Get your Mark 2 Lancer ready because Gears of War 4 will launch on October 11 on Xbox One. The Gears of War twitter account is teasing another big reveal soon.

The State of SOCOM –  Last week, Justin wrote an article on his love and the current state of the SOCOM: US Navy Seals franchise. Be sure to check out that article if you missed it.

Recent Releases

  • Oculus Rift – The first wave of Oculus Rift devices shipped and with it came reviews. It launched with very positive reviews. The biggest knock on it isn’t hardware related, but the current offering of games, with only a few being worth your time.
  • Star Wars: The Force Awakens – The biggest movie of the decade released on Blu-Rey (haha, get it?) this week. Special features include a behind the scenes documentary, table read footage, a segment on John Williams, and deleted scenes!
  • Quantum Break – One of the most anticipated titles for Xbox One released. From the developers of Alan Wake, Remedy Entertainment. This game features a mix of gameplay, cutscenes, and live action segments that include actors from some of your favorite shows and movies. Quantum Break starts just moments before a time experiment goes wrong, our protagonist, Jack Joyce, is given time bending powers as he works to correct things. The game boasts an impressive cast featuring Shawn Ashmore (X-Men), Aidan Gillen (Game of Thrones), Dominic Monaghan (Lost, Lord of the Rings), and Lance Reddick (Lost, The Wire)
  • MLB The Show 16 – This is the game Xbox fans wish they had if they’re a baseball fan. Consistently one of the best sports games released every year, this version is no different. If you have PS4 and enjoy baseball, pick this up.
